About us
My journey with mushrooms started as a fascination
When I was 14 years old, about (104 years ago, haha) I saw some bright orange mushrooms on one of my friends father's kitchen table, I had never seen mushrooms this colour in the shop before. I was amazed when he told me they are edible and delicious and grow in the forest.
Food sovereignty is our human right and of utmost importance. Hunger is devastating in Africa and I love the fact that the forest is here to look after us.
Thank you mother nature!
Funny enough my surname means Light of the forest and I truly believe all the love and light exudes from the forest.
My fascination with these orange mushrooms rapidly developed into an obsession and a deep love for the healing powers and the source of free food that mushrooms and the forest has to offer us.
As I learned, foraged and gathered knowledge of how the forest can feed us and that mushrooms can heal almost any health issue, one of my biggest concerns for humans is the hunger, poverty and the cost of medicine and healthly food. I believe everyone should be healthy and happy.
When one is diagnosed with an illness it's sad and I believe nature has the cure.
I love teaching people about mushrooms and that they offer a wonderful cure without all the side effects that Western medicine comes with.
Not only are mushrooms super healthy and a great source of nutrition but they are essential to our overall health and the eco system. My appreciation for mushrooms is overwhelmingly difficult to put into words.
I started this because nature knows best!
We can save lives and feed nations with mother nature and that's what we all deserve.
I truly believe mushrooms can save the world. I love the human race and all the animals and most of all I love nature and have a deep gratitude for it.
This is what ichikolowa is about: Teaching you how to feed yourself and your family and how to heal your loved ones through the powers of mushrooms and the ever loving forest.
